Huge amount of fake goods seized in RAK
The Department of Economic Development on Tuesday seized huge quantities of fake products including handbags, clothes, shoes and cosmetics.
Ras Al Khaimah: The Department of Economic Development on Tuesday seized huge quantities of fake products including handbags, clothes, shoes and cosmetics.
The department received information from the Arab Anti-Hacking Union in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Economy on the existence of a supplier of fake products in Ras Al Khaimah.
Authorities raided shops and seized huge quantities of fake products. The department coordinated with law enforcement authorities to give the supplier who was detained the toughest penalty.
Shaikha Hussain Al Ali, who heads the Customer Protection and Intellectual Property Section at the emirate's Department of Economic Development, said the supplier has been selling the fake products for rates much less than the international brands.
The supplier was popular, particularly among women who were his main customers.
