Dubai: Gulf Medical University (GMU) honoured the achievements of 92 of its illustrious graduates at the Ninth Convocation Ceremony on November 29 in the Al Zawraa Ball Room, Ajman Kempinski Hotel and Resort, Ajman.

92 graduates from different fields in medicine
Held under the patronage of Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, UAE and Ruler of Ajman, the event saw off 69 graduates from the College of Medicine (MBBS) 14 graduates from College of Allied Health Sciences (BPT), four graduates from Master of Science in Clinical Pathology (MS CP), three graduates from Master of Toxicology (MS Tox), and two graduates from Masters in Public Health (MPH).
Members of the Ruling Family, Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education; Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director of Ajman Medical District, Dr Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Under Secretary for Medical Practice & Licence (CEO), MOH Dubai, Shaikh Dr Mohamad Bin Saqer Al Qassimi — Director Sharjah Medical District, were also present at the event.
“This event signifies that each of the students has demonstrated the required intellectual ability and the personal qualities of hard work, perseverance and accomplishment to attain a special mark of recognition,” Shaikh Humaid said.
Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Gulf Medical University, Board of Governors of GMU, lauded the successful graduates on the occasion.
Moideen commended the graduates on their achievement. He wished them continued success and assured all support whenever required. “May I remind you my beloved students that you are the Ambassadors of this Institution and you must live up to the values and ideals of your alma mater,” Moideen said.
While thanking President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Sultan Al Nahyan, for his leadership, Moideen likewise thanked Shaikh Humaid for his constant and invaluable support to him and the University.
Dr Afra Abdul Wahid Ali and Nora Ahmad Sultan received the best outgoing students award from the MBBS and BPT streams respectively.
