Good Samaritans lend a hand to the progress of Future Centre
The Future Centre in Abu Dhabi held its annual Open Day on Tuesday, an event that was attended by families, sponsors, and the patron of the centre, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Abu Dhabi: The Future Centre in Abu Dhabi held its annual Open Day on Tuesday, an event that was attended by families, sponsors, and the patron of the centre, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Sponsors and supporters of the Future Centre presented Shaikh Nahyan with cheques at the Open Day. Organisations and companies such as The Red Crescent, Adma Opco, Emirates Insure Company, HCT, ADCO, Spinney's, Al Noor Hospital and Zadco all made sizeable donations, in addition to private donations made by Abu Dhabi philanthropists.
Total cash donations throughout the Open Day totalled Dh990,000.
In their second donation of the year, Spinney's donated 100 pieces of stationary to the centre, while Al Noor Hospital provided free medical check-ups for all the students of the Future Centre.
Every year, the Future Centre a centre for children with learning disabilities opens its doors to the public, in a bid to encourage work within the centre, as well as organisational or private donations.
"This is an excellent opportunity to express our gratitude for the support we receive," said Shaikh Nayhan.
"God willing, the Future Centre will continue its progress, I am enthusiastic about today's open house, as we are reminded that the centre exists for the students."
The Future Centre is a non-profit institution that was established in 2000.
