Numerous work papers to be presented on experiences of countries
Abu Dhabi :In a bid to increase the productivity and well-being of every individual, the Family Development Foundation is organising a campaign to benefit the elderly.
This campaign comes in line with the International Aging conference held from the April 22 to April 24. According to organisers, their main target is schoolchildren and university students.
Dr Bashir Al Rashidi, head of the conference's scientific committee explained that the campaign is open to all people of different ages and not just the elderly, he stressed.
The goal is to educate people on how to be more productive when they become old, how to deal with changes in their body, how to better take care of themselves and what to do if they sense that their mind is aging and they or a member of their family is becoming senile.
Activities include competitions for short story, best play and best audio drama.
During the conference, numerous work papers will be presented on the definition of aging, the experiences of other countries with the elderly and how to integrate the elderly into society.
The conference is held under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and chaired by Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women's Union and Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation.
