Forum urges Emirati women to take up leadership role

The Dubai Women's Establishment held a forum on Wdnesday to encourage Emirati women to take up leadership roles.

Dubai: The Dubai Women's Establishment held a forum on Wdnesday to encourage Emirati women to take up leadership roles.

The session outlined essential elements such as promoting professional learning and capabilities of women, improving communication between female leaders and potential female leaders, contributions towards women's leadership education, as well as the promotion of open communication channels between female leaders.

Najla Al Awadi, a member of the Federal National Council told Gulf News, "Such events are highly needed on regular basis ... to create and raise the level of awareness among the new generation and in order to build a strong structure for UAE society.

"The event provides education to all classes of society, on how women can take up an essential role. However the absence of men raises many questions," she said.

The session was attended by key businesswomen from all arena's of the corporate and government world.
