Family left in the dark after 56-year-old goes missing

Dubai: Noorjahan makes 10 calls a day to her son-in-law in Dubai to get some news on her husband who has been missing since February 9.
The whereabouts of her 56-year-old husband Abdullah Abdul Kader is unknown. He went missing on the afternoon of February 9. He was last seen at 2.30pm near a mall in Dubai.
Relatives and the company with whom he was employed as a driver have filed a missing person's complaint.
Akbar Ali, his son-in-law, who also works as a driver, said his father-in-law did not have any loans nor does he know of anyone who had a spat with him.
"His mobile phone is switched off. We checked all the hospitals, emergency and accident units in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. He has been working in the UAE for the past 15 years.
"We have also kept the consulate informed as to his details. The consulate told us that police investigations are on."
He said nothing seems to be missing from the room where his father-in-law lived in Bur Dubai.
"The Toyota Camry that was driven by Kader has gone missing. We keep trying his mobile phone but it is switched off," said Ali.
Speaking to Gulf News from the Tanjavur district in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Noorjahan said the last time she heard from her husband was just a day before he was reported missing.
"He sounded fine and normal on the telephone. We do not have any financial or family problems. I am quite scared for him. It has been over 15 days and there is no trace of him. I just hope that one fine day the telephone rings at home and the voice on the other end turns out to be his," said Noorjahan.
