Abu Dhabi: A concrete block fell to the ground in a construction site in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, sending a flurry of calls to police after people felt the ground shake.
The Abu Dhabi police received 15 calls where people said they felt a light earthquake had taken place at midnight.
The centre of ambulance and disaster control contacted the Earthquake surveillance centre in Abu Dhabi about the issue and it was confirmed that no earthquake had occurred in the area.
Major Al Ansari from the Abu Dhabi police said that people imagined the concrete bloc's fall to be an earthquake because the streets were empty at the time.
