Experts discuss ongoing and future terror threats
Ongoing and future terrorism threats around the world are the focus of a two-day conference organised by Dubai Consultancy Research and Media Centre (DCRMC), which opened on Monday.
Dubai: Ongoing and future terrorism threats around the world are the focus of a two-day conference organised by Dubai Consultancy Research and Media Centre (DCRMC), which opened on Monday.
This is the third time the conference, being held under the patronage of Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, takes place in Dubai.
It brings together key experts from around the world to focus on terrorism threats across the globe and look at new tactics terrorists might use.
A panel of internationally reputed experts yesterday discussed some of the most common forms of terrorism and evaluated existing approaches to terrorism at the conference. It finishes today.
Participants discussed some of the radical perceptions that lead to terrorism.
They also gave an overview of successful measures to counter terrorism, specifically how it was applied in Singapore. The day ended with an evaluation of some of the the key international initiatives to prevent terrorism.
Lieutenant General Dahi commended the conference for its review of current strategies against terrorism.
The conference will also examine emerging threats in a technologically advanced world and look at what knowledge and expertise is required to fight technological terrorism.
Lieutenant General Dahi called for the establishment of global justice as a main prerequisite in eradicating the root causes of terrorism.
Experts at the conference will today assess the anti-terrorism policies in war-torn regions such as Iraq and Afghanistan and discuss imminent threats in the Levant region.
