etisalat announces up to 64 per cent discount on phone calls to Palestine
etisalat has announced up to 64 per cent reduction in rates for all phone calls and SMSs to Palestine, starting on Thursday, January 1, 2009.
Abu Dhabi: etisalat has announced up to 64 per cent reduction in rates for all phone calls and SMSs to Palestine, starting on Thursday, January 1, 2009.
The reduced rates will be effective round-the-clock throughout January 2009, etisalat said in a press release.
The reduced rates to Palestine will be 96 fils per minute on all calls and 30 fils per SMS. The reduction will be applicable to all calls from mobile, fixed line, and etisalat select service.
etisalat's acting chief marketing officer Khalifa Al Shamsi said the reduced rates will allow Palestinians in the UAE to connect with their families, relatives and friends in Gaza and other parts of Palestine.
"etisalat expresses its solidarity to our Palestinian brethren and their cause and we are committed to contribute in all possible ways to reduce their hardships," added Al Shamsi.
