Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday urged Emirati women to employ all their capabilities and energies to develop themselves and serve their society in all fields.
He said women have a lot of potential to succeed and achieve their personal and national goals, and stressed the importance of will, confidence and optimism.
The statement was made when Shaikh Mohammad attended part of the introductory day of the UAE Women Leaderships programme, organised by the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) in cooperation with the Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development.
Famous Arab women
Shaikh Mohammad recalled famous Arab and Muslim women from history, and reminded UAE women of their female ancestors and the role they played in society.
Shaikh Mohammad was welcomed by the President of the DWE, Shaikha Manal Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wife of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Shaikha Manal said the DWE is inspired by the Vice-President's vision for the role of UAE women in society through their positions at work, school and home, and his endless support for developing women's capabilities, qualifying them to become front-line leaders in both the public and private sector.
The UAE Women Leadership Programme received more than 700 entries.
