Emirates and Air Arabia resume Beirut flights
While some airlines will resume flights from here to the Lebanese capital today, flights out of Abu Dhabi remain cancelled, according to airline and airport officials.
Dubai: While some airlines will resume flights from here to the Lebanese capital today, flights out of Abu Dhabi remain cancelled, according to airline and airport officials.
Emirates Airlines said it will resume all regular service from Dubai to Beirut tomorrow. Today it will run its scheduled afternoon flight, EK953, from Dubai to Beirut, and the return flight, EK954.
A statement from the airline said from tomorrow it will resume its twice-a-day scheduled services between both cities. "The decision was made following a review of the situation in Beirut," read the statement.

Unrest
Flights were suspended due to the recent unrest in Beirut.
Sharjah-based Air Arabia also resumes its regular services to the Rafik Hariri International Airport today.
Air Arabia passengers with queries related to flights to and from Beirut can call the customer relations office during office hours on 06 508 8858.
Malaysia Airlines will not resume its Beirut flights yet. Merina Abu Tahir, regional general manager, said Dubai-Beirut flights have been rerouted to Damascus, Syria.
"We are monitoring the situation. Right now we are flying to Damascus. We plan to continue flying there until the end of June," she said.
Oman Air flights to Beirut from Dubai today and tomorrow are also still cancelled.
Etihad flights in and out of Beirut also remain cancelled today and tomorrow.
"There are no flights arriving from Lebanon to Abu Dhabi or flying there from here," a spokesperson of the Abu Dhabi Airport told Gulf News.
Etihad Airways' flight this morning has been cancelled.
"We have learned that roads leading in and out of Beirut are blocked so there is no point in sending flights but leaving our passengers stranded at the airport," said a spokesperson. The airline will review tomorrow's flight today.
Etihad has been sending larger planes to Damascus to pick up passengers who left Lebanon by road. "We will honour people's tickets from Beirut if they are now leaving from Syria," the spokesperson said.
