Dubai holds special number plate auction
Number Plate G 16 broke all records of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) special number plates auction when it was sold for Dh5 million on Friday, according to RTA.

Dubai: Number Plate G 16 broke all records of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) special number plates auction when it was sold for Dh5 million on Friday, according to RTA.
About 100 plates were auctioned netting more than Dh 32.25 million.
There was remarkable bidding for the two-digit numbers G 16 and G 21 as well as E 60.
Number plate G 16 was sold for Dh5 million followed by E 60 which sold for Dh3.6 million and G 21 (Dh3.4 million). The total proceeds of the two-digit number plates reached Dh12.02 million.
The 28 three-digit numbers of categories F and G were sold for an aggregate amount of Dh12.262 million, led by the number plate F 141 which was sold for Dh670,000 followed by G 118 which was sold for Dh620,000, and the number plate F 166 for Dh600,000.
The 46 four-digit numbers sold for a total amount of more than Dh5.005 million, were topped by the number plate F 1001 which was sold for Dh350,000 followed by F 5005 (Dh240,000) and the number plate F 2002 (Dh230,000).
There were 26 five-digit number plates for sale in categories D, E, F and G and they were sold for a total amount of Dh2.8 million led by the number G 80008, which was sold for Dh242,000 followed G 11110 which was sold for Dh218,000.
