Contractor of Deira building released
The contractor and consultant who were carrying out the project at the building which partially collapsed on Sunday have been released after being questioned by Dubai Police, a senior official told Gulf News.

Dubai: The contractor and consultant who were carrying out the project at the building which partially collapsed on Sunday have been released after being questioned by Dubai Police, a senior official told Gulf News.

Brigadier Khalil Al Mansouri, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Dubai Police, said: "We cannot press charges against anybody until the reasons behind the collapse are known.
"We will press the charges in the light of the technical report conducted by Dubai Municipality so we have to wait," added Al Mansouri.
Part of the six-storey building, near the Ramada Continental Hotel in Abu Hail, collapsed at 3pm on Sunday.

There were 23 workers and an engineer working on the building but no injuries were reported as all workers were evacuated before it collapsed.
