Dubai: Filipino community organisations in Dubai and the northern emirates are set to hold its year-end community programme at the Megabowl in Zabeel Park.

Now in its second year, the event called "Bayanihan Festival," will be a celebration of the deeds not only of the leaders and members of the 60-plus Philippine Consulate General-accredited organisations, but also of the ordinary Filipino expatriates who have contributed their share in helping their countrymen who were badly affected by typhoons Ketsana and Parma.

Filcom chairman, Robert Ramos explained: "This year's celebration will be somewhat different from last year because we are planning to highlight the innate goodness and helpfulness of every Filipino in the UAE, particularly those based in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Our theme this year is ‘Together we made a difference'."

He added that the festival will be a whole day affair of fun games and exciting presentations which will start at 8am. There will also be a bazaar and a special show to be topbilled by Philippine television personalities.
