Call to lift ban on two-engine boats
National fishermen on Tuesday approached the fisheries section, urging authorities to revoke the ban on two-engine boats.
Ras Al Khaimah: National fishermen on Tuesday approached the fisheries section, urging authorities to revoke the ban on two-engine boats.
They also wanted to take a greater number of nets on fishing trips.
The fishermen urged authorities to heed their requests as soon as possible because failing to do so would badly harm their business interests.
Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, who also heads the Higher Fishing Committee, said he and other members of the committee heard the fishermen's requests and will discuss the issue during the next meeting and will make necessary amendments.
