Helen Exley gift books are available in Dubai to make a statement: "It is a gift that happens to be a book: Because books are forever", says Michael Illingworth, their export sales manager. Illingworth was in Dubai recently to promote his books which are currently distributed by Right Selection, located in Bur Dubai.
Helen Exley, the owner and founder of these little books that are specially designed to be given as gifts, made a humble beginning in 1976. Today they have come a long way and the company publishes 30 new titles each year in 30 different languages. "These small books are being recognised the world over for their quality and aesthetic value," says Illingworth. In 1997, the company received the Queen's award for export achievement in recognition of the quality of the books in the export market.
"These books have been designed in such a manner that they are able to convey messages that we sometimes are not able to convey ourselves," says Illingworth. A team of editors sources thousands of quotations to choose the very best selection for each title. A specialist team of picture researchers combs the world's galleries to select unusual and creative illustrations for the books.
