Dubai: More than four months after an Australian adventurer entered the UAE, Allan Roberts left for Iran on Saturday to complete his 95,000km bike ride across four continents.
As Gulf News reported on February 10, his motorbike - an Africa Twin XRV 750 - was stolen in Ajman, leaving him looking for a way to accomplish his dream of riding his bike from England to Australia through Africa and Asia.
Honda UAE had donated a new motorbike to Roberts and in return, he agreed to raise money for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. But Roberts had to reconstruct the old bike, found by Ajman Police, with parts from the new bike to be able to take it to Australia because of Australian rules.
As Roberts crosses Southeast Asian states, the children at the Dubai Centre for Special Needs will follow his journey.
He has promised to send them an e-mail update every two weeks, as well as update his blog at hardwayhome.blogspot.com
