Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department is considering sending new Muslims to the holy lands to perform Haj and Umrah for free in order to educate them about the teachings of the true Islam and enhance their Islamic identity.

The initiative comes within the framework of the department's approach to enhance the continuous communication with new Muslims and build their Islamic identity so as to ease their integration into society.

The proposal follows a noticeable increase in the number of people who embrace Islam. According to the latest statistics released by the department, about 586 people embraced Islam in the past six months, a 14 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.

Out of these, there are 354 new Muslims in Abu Dhabi and 123 in Al Ain.

The Islam Promulgation Section at the department provides various services to new Muslims, including translation in key languages and giving them copies of the Quran in different languages and books on Islamic teachings and principles and other publications.

The section has witnessed many developments this year and has 18 branches across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, where it provides its services to new Muslims.

The main service the section provides is educating new Muslims on Islam and its true teachings and principles through a close cooperation with a number of partners and centres for new Muslims to help them integrate into society and make contact with its members and institutions.

It keeps track of new Muslims and gets to know obstacles that may face them in their new path.

People who want to embrace Islam must approach the section carrying their required documents, and they will be able to learn more about the religion.

They must be sure they want to convert to Islam before testifying that there is no God but Allah and that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is His Messenger.

There are many bodies and centres that collaborate with the Islam Promulgation section to explain Islamic principles and teachings to new Muslims.

May Almighty Allah Bless the UAE Government! It should consider the minorities of any other countries. Their environments and chances for Haj
