Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) will host the third UAE National Robot Olympiad (UNRO) – an annual robotics competition for middle and high-school students.
The event, held on October 6 at the Al Mawaheb Model School for Girls in Abu Dhabi, is expected to draw young scientists and students studying Information Technology and Robotics.
"ADEC is very proud to host and conduct this excellent academic-based initiative. The Robot Olympiad is a valuable means to get students to consider the study of science and technology as a career and to produce inventions that will benefit our society," said Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General at ADEC.
Winning teams from the competition will be sent to the World Robot Olympiad 2008 (WRO) - the international robotics championship for the Asia-Pacific region, which is being held in Yokohama, Japan.
