The Dubai World Cup opened for a spectacular show on Saturday, with the world's finest horses competing for the richest purse in the world.

On the sidelines, race goers were treated to an entertaining sight of ladies in colourful hats - something which has become a mane highlight of the event.
However, all eyes were glued on Nad Al Sheba as the 11 contenders for the final race of the meeting made their way to the starting gate.
Electrocutionist, from the Godolphin stable of Dubai's Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, bolted to the finish line to win the $6 million Dubai World Cup race.
The Dubai World Cup has certainly grown into an internationally renowned event, with over 90 horses from 14 countries taking part in this year's race.
