Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, a law attaching the Executive Office in Dubai to the Ruler's Court.

The move is part of Dubai's efforts to achieve comprehensive development to enhance the government work system, which is under the full supervision of the Ruler's Court.

The Ruler's Court is a higher supervision and coordination body between all government departments in Dubai. It follows up their activities in line with the strategic development directions.

The new law, which will replace Law no 28 of 2008 for the establishment of the Executive Office, stipulates that the Executive Office will have a chairman to be appointed upon a decree issued by the Ruler.

The office will be a corporate entity enabling it to discharge assigned missions and responsibilities. Its budget will come from special allocation in the general budget of Dubai.

The office was mandated by the law to conduct various studies to support strategic decision-making and follow up the implementation of resolutions and projects issued by the Ruler of Dubai to ensure work progress according to time frames and standards.

The office will also submit regular performance appraisal reports.

It will also develop and suggest projects within various fields to boost the development strategy of Dubai and support development efforts in the UAE in general.

The law will be implemented from the date of publication.
