Abu Dhabi: NorthSouthEastWest - the name conjures up images of a connected world. The photography exhibition at the Cultural Foundation does just that, by connecting the world with a common theme: climate.

From Greenland to South Africa, and Japan to Mexico, the exhibition illustrates the impact of climate change in communities from across the globe.

It was first launched in 2005 in London's Trafalgar Square. It has visited Yemen, Kuwait and Oman, and is now in the UAE before it ends in Bahrain in April.

"NorthSouthEastWest", conceived by the British Council and the Climate Group, recently opened in Abu Dhabi's Cultural Foundation, where it will run until March 8, before moving to Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai.

"At the launch we worked with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, and the Emirates Environmental Group," said Linda Pearson, knowledge manager at the British Council in Dubai.

The exhibition includes works by 10 photographers. "It's not just an agricultural thing," explained Pearson. "It covers the whole span of society; you have health and environmental issues and urban life among other things."
