Ras Al Khaimah: Residents and police have killed two venomous snakes that had entered residents' houses, spreading panic.

Civil Defence personnel yesterday killed a one-metre venomous snake in the house of an Arab family in Southern Al Dhaid while an Emirati killed another snake in Al Rams.

A senior officer at the Civil Defence Department said a family reported a huge snake in their house. The family members left the house and reported the case to the department which sent its emergency vehicle to handle the situation.

A police officer found the snake and killed it.

In Al Rams, residents got rid of a venomous snake. For the past few days, the Emiratis were chasing the snake which had been sighted in several houses, spreading panic among the residents.

Mohammad Esthairi killed the snake with his traditional firearm.
