Sharjah to introduce power saving system
Residents in Sharjah are being encouraged to use less water and electricity with the introduction of a new system next month.
Sharjah: Residents in Sharjah are being encouraged to use less water and electricity with the introduction of a new system next month.
Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) on Tuesday announced that it would introduce a new segment system in March for consumers to rationalise water consumption.
The system will help consumers calculate the price of water and electricity and has already been applied in various Gulf states and other countries to save power.
Waleed Khalid Bin Khadem, General Director of Sewa said: "The proposal of the new system will help rationalise consumption of electricity and water because consumers will be able to calculate the value of their electricity and water bill according to their consumption," adding that it will help reduce wasteful consumption and protect natural resources.
