Dubai: Fire, is there a fire? Police operations room in Dubai was inundated with calls on Wednesday evening from confused motorists wanting to know whether there was a fire on Shaikh Zayed Road.
Thick fog covered parts of Shaikh Zayed Road in Dubai and many other areas in Dubai, leaving motorists confused. There was no fire, it was just fog, said the operations room.
But dense fog halted traffic and caused massive traffic jams in Dubai and other parts in the UAE.
Though there were no major accidents, traffic towards Sharjah was moving at a snail's pace, said the traffic control room.
The fog started to envelop Dubai and other emirates around 6pm.
