Project to reduce empty plastic bottles
A pilot project to reduce the number of empty plastic bottles has been launched in Al Ain.
Al Ain: A pilot project to reduce the number of empty plastic bottles has been launched in Al Ain.
Described as eco-friendly community activity, the project has been launched by Al Ain Mineral Water Company (AMWC). The first empty bottle collection point has been set up at Al Ain International Aerobatic Air Show.
"At this point, the visitors can dispose off empty bottles," Fasahat Beg, general manager of AMWC, said. A plastic melting device at the collection point will reduce the bottle into a small piece.
Beg said AMWC has plans to expand the project to schools and private and public institutions. He said collection points for empty bottles would be established by the end of the year.
AMWC has also signed a three-year sponsorship pact with Al Ain Air Show.
