The song is inspired by Lustra's "Scotty doesn't know", and describes Sammy's state while she is trapped in an aquarium.
The songwriter thanks Gulf News for their efforts and requests people to continue writing letters of support.
Excerpts from the song:
Sammy wants to go
Sammy wants to go!!!
Back to her own home,
Swim in open seas and live free
In an aquarium
They keep her in gloom
Oh and she's far from happy
Sammy wants to go
Oh, Sammy wants to go
So set free Sammy!
Sammy wants to go.
Sammy wants to go.
SET FREE SAMMY!
They say she's put where she's most happy
But all she does is swim in circles coz Sammy wants to go.
Sammy wants to go.
Sammy wants to go.
SO SET FREE SAMMY!
Sammy wants to go...oh.
She can't believe she's put in a tank now
When in Dubai she was sight-seeing, Sammy is not a pet, She's not your little puppet...
