Motorists cautioned as foggy weather expected
Drivers have been warned to expect foggy conditions this morning and for the next few days as well.
Dubai: Drivers have been warned to expect foggy conditions this morning and for the next few days as well.
A combination of high humidity and cool temperatures is likely to see visibility plunge across the country. Forecasters have warned that the poor conditions could be repeated in the morning until Saturday.
The duty forecaster at Dubai International Airport said: "People should just drive carefully because there is likely to be fog and it could be patchy.
"It might be clear in one area and then foggy further along the highway, especially for people travelling long distances such as along the Dubai-Abu Dhabi road and the Emirates Road."
There was mist or fog in several parts of the country on Tuesday morning, with Al Ain the worst hit, with visibility of less than 50 metres at one stage.
Ras Al Khaimah was also foggy, with visibility falling to 800 metres, followed by Dubai where it fell to 1,400 metres.
In Abu Dhabi things were marginally clearer with visibility at 2,000 metres, while in Sharjah visibility of 4,000 metres was recorded.
Tuesday was more humid than Monday so there will be more moisture lingering in the air this morning than Tuesday morning and this means that fog is likely to be thicker on Wednesday.
