Dubai: Dubai Police have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE), a member of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai, which supports the ‘Green Economy for Sustainable Development’ initiative.

The MoU reflects the commitment of Dubai Police and DCCE to achieve environmental security and sustainable development while also encouraging the development and prosperity of the UAE. It also reflects the significant role of security institutions in achieving public security and social cohesion.
The MoU enables Dubai Police to exchange expertise with DCCE to monitor the process of minimising carbon emissions.
Major General Rashid Al Mazroui, Director General of the Department of Services and Equipment of Dubai Police, and Waleed Salman, Chairman of DCCE, signed the MoU, in the presence of Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council, Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Commandant General of Dubai Police, Major General Abdul Rahman Rafie, Director of Community Service at Dubai Police, and Ahmad Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council.
“The Supreme Council continually works on launching initiatives to achieve sustainable development and manage and reduce demand for energy by 30% by 2030 to minimise carbon emissions significantly,” said Al Tayer.
“These initiatives echo not only regionally but also internationally as part of the green movement, which is building the future. The Green Economy for Sustainable Development launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build a green economy in the UAE, falls within the integrated strategy which plays a significant role in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development,” said Major General Al Mazeina.
“We, at Dubai Police, are keen on protecting our environment and future generations,” he added.
