Dubai: In its continuing effort to help boost marine resources, the Ministry of Environment and Water released a large number of hamour fingerlings into the sea.

The fingerlings were released in Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. Officials from the Marine Resources Research Centre in Umm al Quwain and a large number of fishermen witnessed the event.

The ministry has been availing expert advice for 24 years to introduce the fish into territorial waters after nurturing them during the larvae stage.
