Tanmia to prevent paper emiratisation
The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority, Tanmia, and the Ministry of Labour are working on a mechanism to prevent "paper emiratisation", an official said.
Dubai: The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority, Tanmia, and the Ministry of Labour are working on a mechanism to prevent "paper emiratisation" of human resources and secretarial positions, a Tanmia official said on Tuesday.
Tanmia met human resources representatives from 14 companies in the private sector on Tuesday in an effort to address concerns and answer questions about emiratisation.
Tanmia is planning on monitoring companies to ensure that emiratisation targets for human resources managers and secretarial positions are being met and applied appropriately.
"Tanmia will carry out inspections in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and to make sure that nationals employed as human resources managers and secretaries are indeed filling their respective positions," said Jamal Al Mazroui, Research Officer at the Centre for Labour Market Research and Information (CLMRI) at Tanmia.
The decision to emiratise secretarial jobs came as a result of studies that showed that most unemployed UAE nationals were secondary school graduates between the ages of 15 and 24, said a Tanmia official.
Dr Mouawiya Al Awad, acting director CLMRI, said 48 per cent of unemployed UAE nationals are holders of secondary school certificates, 66 percent of whom are women.
