Dubai: A newly part-time work system that will contribute towards emiratisation has been released by the Dubai Executive Council (DEC) and will be adopted by all government departments of the city, according to Shaikha Mona Abdullah Al Mualla, executive director of the corporate support centre, the General Secretariat of the DEC.
Shaikha Mona said that emiratisation is among the top priorities of council in terms of human resources.
"The proportion of emiratisation of both sexes in different departments of DEC starting from the Dubai Institute for Economic Policy Research, Dubai Competitiveness Council, and other managerial departments, in addition to middle management levels, has increased rapidly last year.
"Today it contributes to 50 per cent of the total staff. Most of these nationals are highly qualified and from reputable local and global universities, therefore the said system would enhance the DEC's General Secretariat strategy in this regard" she said.
She also indicated that the new system matches with the best practice worldwide, and hence it is expected to have a positive impact on the labour market, namely the system's flexible and low stress system, whether for those nationals who look for an attractive business environment that is in line with their preferences and skills, or those who look forward to finding an additional job to improve their standard of living.
Shaikha Mona also stressed that the new policy would have a positive impact on the governmental departments, as well in being effective in attracting national skills that match with defined needs and requirements.
