Abu Dhabi: A young Indian man has been missing from Dubai for the past 10 days.

Kuppurayil Ansad, 24, who worked as a helper with Bawani Trading in Deira in Dubai, has been missing since August 4, his uncle said in a written complaint to the Indian Consulate General in Dubai on Saturday.

On Saturday, we found a burglary in our warehouse in Sharjah and we reported it to police. Since we are worried about Ansad’s whereabouts, we filed a missing case also with Sharjah Police

Mohammad Ali, owner of Bawani Trading

The complaint says the Ansad’s cellphone has been switched off and when the uncle checked with the employer, he was not supportive and did not provide the passport copy of the missing man.

The company told him they had lost a container of goods from their Sharjah warehouse and a complaint has been registered with Sharjah Police, read the complaint filed by Abdul Jaleel, the uncle of the missing man.

Jaleel told Gulf News that the employer did not link the incident of lost goods and Ansad’s disappearance but he felt there was something strange.

Ansad last spoke to his family in Madakkara in Kannur district in Kerala over phone on August 3, his uncle said.

The Indian consulate said it is providing all assistance to the complainant.

Ansad’s employer told Gulf News that he did not come to work on August 2, and his cellphone has been switched off since.

“On Saturday, we found a burglary in our warehouse in Sharjah and we reported it to police. Since we are worried about Ansad’s whereabouts, we filed a missing case also with Sharjah Police,” Mohammad Ali, owner of Bawani Trading, said.

He provided Ansad’s passport copy to the Indian consulate and is giving all his support to Ansad’s relatives.

Sharjah Police could not be reached for comment.
