Dubai: The telethon organised by the UAE Red Crescent Authority has collected Dh42 million in donations for Pakistan over two days.
The three-day Ounokom ("your support") campaign got under way on Wednesday and continued yesterday. It concludes today.
Among the prominent donors are Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), who donated Dh1 million, Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and honorary head of the RCA, who donated Dh5 million, and Shaikha Aisha Bint Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who donated Dh3 million.
