New life-saving fleet of vehicles

The addition brings the number of ambulances to 199

Dubai: The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has increased its fleet to 199 vehicles with the addition of 33 new ambulances this month, it was announced yesterday.

The corporation's vehicles vary from regular ambulances and field support vehicles to cardiology ambulances, maternity ambulances, road accident and emergency units, quick intervention bikes, and land intervention vehicles. The vehicles can easily reach patients or victims of accidents and come fully equipped with necessary fittings for each case to help cut time and divert all effort towards rescuing those in need.

The new vehicles include nine category A ambulances for immediate life-threatening conditions to update and replace a similar number of old ambulances, two maternity and newborn units used to transport premature children, ten category B ambulances for serious but not immediately threatening conditions to replace old ambulances, six first response vehicles to replace four others and including two new additions, two advanced emergency-care units, one quick land-intervention vehicle and three quick-intervention bikes to help reach patients during rush hours and traffic congestion.
