Work begins on Harvard Medical School
Construction of a Harvard Medical School centre began on Tuesday, officially making the prestigious medical school's presence here.
Dubai: Construction of a Harvard Medical School centre began on Tuesday, officially making the prestigious medical school's presence here.
The postgraduate education and research centre headquarters in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is scheduled for completion in 2007.
The building will have a medical library, which promises to have an advanced collection of clinical and development resources. It will also house a 300-seat auditorium.
Dr Robert L. Thurer, Chief Academic Officer of Harvard Medical School Dubai Centre (HMSDC), said in a statement the centre was designed to provide and inspire the best medical education and research.
"This facility will enhance our ability to offer high-quality medical education programmes and enable HMSDC to spur collaborations between top educators and research scientists in the UAE and neighbouring countries," he said.
Saeed Al Muntafiq, Chief Executive Officer of Tat-weer, the company responsible for DHCC, said the facility would be a hub for medical experts.
