UAE students win prize money for their achievements
Abu Dhabi Industry Awards attracts students to excel in the Abu Dhabi Industry, said Sheikh Nahayan during the award ceremony held on Monday.

Abu Dhabi: In efforts to encourage UAE students to pursue and excel in professional and technical programmes vital for the UAE industry, the Abu Dhabi Industry Awards (ADIA) has honored the top ten Emirati students on Monday morning.
Other than recieving recognition and award certificates the top graduates received prize money, namely the Bachelor programme received Dh25,000; the Higher Diploma programme graduate received Dh20,000 and the Diploma program received Dh15,000.
Nominees for the award were in the top ten per cent of the graduating class based on graduation grade point average (GPA); grades in graduation project and work placement; attendance record in the final year of the programme and contributions to college activities and community.
ADIA, held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is the initiative of the Higher Colleges of Technology's (HCT'S) Program Advisory Committees (PACs), who represent a wide spectrum of Abu Dhabi industries.
Shaikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research presented students with the awards.
"Showcasing the top performance of outstanding students creates a culture of excellence and achievement in our colleges. Generous awards for exceptional work also spark a collegial, competitive environment and establish ever higher standards and expectations," said Shaikh Nahayan.
The awards were presented to 50 different majors. Specialisation's ranged from the Bachelor, Higher Diploma and Diploma professional programme to the top graduates from HCT.
"These awards are an invaluable opportunity to celebrate the achievements of HCT's best students and encourage striving for excellence by all. The Program Advisory Committees of the HCT are a vital part of our links with UAE business and industry," said Dr Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor, HCT.
In his speech, Shaikh Nahayan concluded that award ceremonies for top performance is a vital boost for a students psychology and encouraged more to come. "I conclude by once again observing how essential it is that we educate our youth to fulfil their greatest potential. It is therefore necessary to celebrate top performance and appropriate to claim these successes as a collective national endeavour. So, I congratulate, once again, the student winners. I applaud your commitment, dedication and achievement. We are proud of you. With your dedication to life-long learning, we wish you every success in the future."
