Speaker donates Dh22m to fund
Speaker of the Federal National Council Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair has donated Dh22 million to the Dubai Cares campaign.

Dubai: Speaker of the Federal National Council Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair has donated Dh22 million to the Dubai Cares campaign.
"The united effort shown by all nationalities and corporations in the UAE has contributed to the huge success of the campaign," said Al Ghurair, who is also CEO of Mashreq Bank and owner of the Abdullah Al Ghurair group of companies and ETA Star.
Mashreq bank's share amounted to Dh10 million while the joint contribution of Abdullah Al Ghurair group of companies and ETA Star totalled Dh12 million.
"This unique endeavour, guided by the vision of the country's leadership, will reinforce the UAE's reputation as a pioneer in championing humanitarian causes," said Al Ghurair as he announced the donation at a meeting with Shaikh Mayed Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
"Dubai Cares is an exceptional initiative. The special attention to the campaign given by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, his sons and daughters, has been a strong driving force for everyone in Dubai to support this philanthropic cause."
