Nahyan opens Abu Dhabi varsity's new campus
The new Dh600 million Abu Dhabi University (ADU) campus, located in Khalifa City, was inaugurated by Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Vice-President of the Board of Trustees at the ADU.

The 360,000 square meter campus includes 50,000 square metres of construction and 20,000 square meters of greenery.
An extension and a new campus (phase three) are also due to be completed in two months and would accommodate students of all age groups in a new building.
Apart from the Minister of Education, several other dignitaries and high-ranking officials toured the building that houses academic and scientific facilities, applied sciences, languages, translation labs and a central library.
The academic building contains 100 classrooms and 26 specialised laboratories. Male and female campuses and dorms are separate, with 63 rooms accommodating up to 140 students in each dorm.
Academic and administrative staff also have 119 housing units that include villas and flats. The compound also includes shopping malls, gardens, a clinic and a mosque.
According to Dr Nabeel Ebrahim, the ADU chancellor, more than 4,000 students from 22 different nationalities, of which 47 per cent are Emirati's, are expected to join the new campus.
"An extra 18 bachelors' programmes and eight masters' programmes will be offered in the campus, along with new applied scientific institutions for energy, water, environment and more specialisations that fulfil the needs of Abu Dhabi's general policy agenda and its economic development," Ebrahim said.
