Ministry plans to boost teachers' quality
As many as 64 teachers are joining a programme that aims to enhance professional development in public education by applying international standards to teaching.
Dubai: As many as 64 teachers are joining a programme that aims to enhance professional development in public education by applying international standards to teaching.
Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, lauded the "Teacher Education Programme" that was launched by the Institute of Applied Technology in cooperation with Cambridge University to teachers in the Ras Al Khaimah Education Zone. He reassured the support of the ministry to the programmes.
This is part of the ministry's strategic plan to develop its human resources.
Dr. Hassan said that development programmes require an excellent infrastructure as well as modern technology in all educational fields. It also requires excellent human resources and planning in order to maintain teacher performance.
He said gaining experience through training programmes will positively reflect on the educational standards of students, enhance their capabilities and achieve learning targets.
"We are proud of the teachers' efforts in developing their skills and their professional development. This will definitely encourage their colleagues to benefit more from the development and continuous education programmes," he said.
According to Salha Al Shamsi, programme coordinator, at the end of the two-year training programme, trainees will obtain the Cambridge Certificate for Teachers & Trainers.
