Higher Colleges of Education hold 21st annual conference
With the motto “Inspiring and Educating the Youth for a Sustainable Future”, the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) held its 21st annual conference on Wednesday.

Dubai: With the motto “Inspiring and Educating the Youth for a Sustainable Future'', the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) held its 21st annual conference on Wednesday.
Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and HCT Chancellor, inaugurated the annual conference and delivered the opening address on the HCT strategy for the new academic year.
“I am pleased to say that we have made impressive progress in achieving an important part of our mission. Already, 28,000 graduates in 17 graduating classes are providing effective leadership in the workplace and throughout the country.
“The HCT have become institutions that help set the international standards for excellent vocational, technical, and professional education,'' Shaikh Nahyan told tens of HCT professors and staff, academicians and educationists who explored ways in which best practices can be learnt and integrated into evolving curricula during the event.
The conference sought to take the HCT's Strategic Plan forward, and discussed among other things, the elements of evidence, research and accreditation of the Plan. The aim is to make higher education modules in the country more relevant to the changing times.
The HCT Chancellor said: “This year, we have the largest student enrollment in our history. We are currently the largest institution of higher education in the UAE. We have just graduated our largest class of nearly 3,800 students. Our students compete in national and regional competitions with great success. They continue to distinguish themselves and to win many awards and prizes.''
Dr Tayyeb Kamali, HCT Vice Chancellor, confirmed HCT's keenness to continue to achieve remarkable progress and growth as a pioneering institution in the UAE whose purpose is to prepare and qualify national human resources in different specializations needed by the labour market and both government and private institutions.
