Dubai: The Hamdan Bin Mohammad Heritage Centre (HHC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies to help deepen the Islamic character of the UAE community and promote research and library studies in the country.
The MoU also seeks to enhance the scope of cultural and community efforts that strengthen national identity and to further develop the cultural initiatives undertaken by the emirate.
Dr Ameenah Khamis Al Daheri, Director of Studies and Research at the HHC said the heritage centre was honoured to sign the MoU with the college because “it plays a very important role in upholding the UAE’s strong cultural identity and increasing awareness about Islamic science and the Arabic language at large.”
“Through this agreement, we look forward to developing the personal and leadership skills of students and offering them a favourable environment for research and academic excellence, and in doing so build a strong sense of national identity for the overall development of the community,” she said.
Dr Mohammad Ahmad Abdul Rahman, Director of Dubai’s College of Islamic and Arabic Studies, said that the institution was also excited about working with the centre “to spread the real Islamic values in the UAE community while focusing on the youth in particular.”
The MoU includes an agreement to organise joint activities, projects, conferences, sessions and courses, roll out academic programmes to promote national talent through research initiatives and expert talks and develop library studies to further promote Arabic language and Islamic culture.
