Girls outshine boys in Indian Grade 12 board exams

Girls once again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education Class 12 exams, in which the overall pass percentage was 80.91 per cent.

Abu Dhabi/Dubai: Girls once again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education Class 12 exams, in which the overall pass percentage was 80.91 per cent.

The pass percentage this year is an increase of 0.27 per cent from last year.

The chairperson of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Ashok Ganguly told reporters in New Delhi: "The total pass percentage of girls in CBSE Class 12 exams this year is 85.44, while that of boys is 77.59. Girls, as usual, have outshone the boys in this year's performance too."

This year, 549,344 candidates registered for the CBSE Class 12 board exams in India as well as abroad - an increase of 9.18 per cent since last year.

Our Own English High School, Dubai: Science: Jincy James, 94.2 per cent. Commerce: Lavina Phulwani, 94.8 per cent. Humanities: Mary Sophia, 84.8 per cent.

The Indian High School, Dubai: Science: Saumya Kaushal and Anisha Satishkumar Gehane, 93.6 per cent. Commerce: Venkatachalam Raman, 91.8 per cent. Humanities: Fatima, 91.4 per cent.

New Indian Model School, Dubai: Science: Jasmin Majeed, 89 per cent. Commerce: Nasreen Sultana Syed Anwar Ahmad stood first, and Fatima Qutbuddin stood second. Among boys, Azhar Makrim Mazharul Haq stood first followed by Yousuf Janet Mir.

Our Own Indian School, Dubai: Science: Nehala Channanath Anwar scored 89.6 per cent. Commerce: Jacqueline Hycinth Pinto scored 91 per cent. Delhi Private School, Dubai: Science: Ankita Sodani, 90.2 per cent. Commerce: Sangavi Satish Babu and Akram Mohammad Ali, 85.6 per cent each.

Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai: Science: Sayed Mohammad Erfanul Haque, 78 per cent. Commerce: Aisa Ameen Ebrahim Sorathia, 84 per cent.

Central School, Dubai: Science: Sumaya Naz, 81.8 per cent. Commerce: Ameena stood first followed by Umme Aiman and Nashrin.

Gulf Indian High School, Dubai: Science: Evana Kabir, 83.4 per cent. Commerce: Gargesh V.N., 93.2 per cent.

Sharjah Indian School: Science: Pranav Satheesan, 93.2 per cent, and Tency Joshu Thomas, 92.2 per cent, were toppers among boys. Gignasa J. Dabariya, 91.2 per cent, and Princy Kamlesh Jain, 91 per cent, were toppers among girls. Commerce: George Xavier, 91.8 per cent, and Sumit Prasad, 89.4 per cent, were topppers among boys. Kajal Vasdev Thawani, 92.6 per cent, and Abhina Rajeev M.K., 90.6 per cent, were toppers among girls.

Gulf Asian English School, Sharjah: Science: Shaima Akter, 86.5 per cent, and Parveen Mohammad Esmail, 83 per cent, were toppers among girls. Sahil Mohammad, 90 per cent, and Nabeel Saleem, 83 per cent, were toppers among boys.

Commerce: Nadia Rahman Sara and Ruksaar Rashid, 78 per cent, and Alia Begum, 71.5 per cent, were toppers among girls. Sahal Abdul Sathar, 76.5 per cent, and S.M. Anwerul Islam, 76 per cent, were toppers among boys.

New India Model School, Sharjah: Science: Azmia Hawa, 82.6 per cent. Commerce: Ameenah, 74.4 per cent.

Delhi Private School, Sharjah: Science: Suchita Bhadkamkar, 92.2 per cent. Commerce: Srijan Katyal, 90.8 per cent.

Our Own English School, Sharjah: Science: Lakshmi Manikandan, 92.6 per cent. Commerce: Niharika Shah, 90.4 per cent.

Scholars Indian School, Ras Al Khaimah: Commerce: Afzal Abu Bakr, 85.4 per cent.

Ras Al Khaimah Indian School: Science: Harsh Devang Jariwala scored 88.8 per cent. Commerce: Salman Shaikh scored 91.6 per cent.

Indian Public High School, RAK: Science: Shabana Mohammad, 84.6 per cent. Commerce: Musab Mohammad Swaleh, 84 per cent. Our Own English High School, Fujairah: Science: Ananya Padmanabha Suvarna, 86 per cent. Commerce: Ashwin Thomas Sebastian, 81 per cent.

Abu Dhabi Indian School, Abu Dhabi: Science: K. Rabia Ebrahim, 93.4 per cent, and Mangai Vetrivelan, 92 per cent, were toppers among girls. Among boys, Joy Winston D'Souza, 91.8 per cent, and Ramkumar Ramesh, 91.6 per cent, were toppers.

Commerce: Mohammad Abbas, 84 per cent, and Abbas Malek, 82.6 per cent, and Lester Christie Mascarenhas, 82.4 per cent, were toppers among boys.

Among girls, Harsimranjeet Kaur, 90 per cent, and Haritha Krishnamurthy, 89.8 per cent, were toppers.

Indian School, Al Ain: Science: Mekha Ann Andrews, 93.8 per cent. Commerce: Ashwathi, 89.2 per cent.

Indian Islahi Islamic School, Abu Dhabi: Science: Naeema Rabia and Anju Mariam Abraham, were toppers. Commerce: Fadia Mustafa and Nazila Assinar were toppers.

St Joseph's School, Abu Dhabi: Science: Reshma Peter, 91.2 per cent. Commerce: Mona Ashraf, 87.4 per cent.

Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi: Science: Fatima Hasnah, 88.8 per cent. Commerce: Princy Ann Mathew, 82.4 per cent.

Our Own English High School, Al Ain: Science: Rohan Bali, 93.4 per cent. Commerce: Nidhi Vijay Mehta, 78.2 per cent.

Al Ain Junior School, Al Ain: Science: Aishwarya Balu, 89 per cent. Commerce: Neha Fatima, 86 per cent.

Darul Huda Islamic School, Al Ain: Science: Hameed Mirza, 81.2 per cent. Commerce: Lubna, 81.6 per cent.
