Abu Dhabi: The start of the new academic year for schools was ushered in by thousands of educators in the capital on Tuesday, as officials from the Abu Dhabi Education Council chalked out the plans for both public and private sector schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
In addition to nearly a 1,000 teachers joining various oublic schools in order to facilitate the New School Model of learning introduced by the Adec in 2005, the council will also be focussing on promoting the learning of the Arabic language, Dr Mugheer Al Khaili, director general at the Adec, said at the Bedaya Forum held to mark the new year.
"Education is a witnessing a fundamental change worldwide, and educators should keep up with these variables. To this end, Adec's provision of expertise and advanced technology to schools will steer young minds towards more scientific fields of learning and better enhance the workforce in the country," said Humaid Al Qutaimi, minister of Education.
