2,200 to appear for Indian board exams from Saturday
As many as 2,200 pupils will appear for their grade 12 Central Board of Secondary Education examination which starts on Saturday.
Dubai: As many as 2,200 pupils will appear for their grade 12 Central Board of Secondary Education examination which starts on Saturday.
The first exam this year is on chemistry. The examinations start at 9am.
There are over 110 schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, in the Gulf countries of which 52 are in the UAE.
There are 15 examination centres across the UAE.
Mary George, convenor of the Gulf schools affiliated to CBSE and the principal of Indian school Ras al Khaimah, said: "Each centre will have a superintendent as well as an assistant superintendent. The number of assistant superintendents is based according to the strength of pupils giving exams from each centre."
Malati Das, principal of the Ajman Indian School, said examinations are held in coordination with the Indian missions in the UAE.

She said: "There is effective invigilation. Apart from school invigilators we will also have consulate officials making the rounds."
Das said to stop pupils from cheating during examinations, CBSE issues three sets of question papers for each subject.
