Dubai: A gang of four robbers have been arrested after the Al Muraqqabat police station received a report of robbery at one of the warehouses in Al Khubaisi.

Unknown people had broken into the warehouse by breaking the lock at night and stole a number of television sets and electronic gadgets, and took them off in a truck.

Police received a number of similar reports, which showed that an organised gang was behind the robberies.

They formed a team to look for the suspects and intensified police patrols in the areas they expected to be visited by the suspects.

The gang struck again and tried to rob another warehouse but when they felt it was security monitored, they fled.

In 24 hours of the attempt, the police was able to identify the gang members, all of whom were Asians.

Two members of the gang were arrested in Naif near one of the hotels. Police found receipts of shipped goods directed to their countries, from the men. They confessed to forming a gang and that one of them was in charge of planning the thefts after checking the places.

A police team continued the search until they found the third suspect in Al Mateena and the forth was arrested from Al Baraha.

The team then went to the shipping company where they traced the shipment and recovered the shipment, which contained more than 100 television sets, 70 video cameras, and a large number of electronic gadgets shipped under the names of the suspects' wives in their countries.

The gang was referred to the Public Prosecution.
