Dubai: Two men landed in hot water after drunkenly cursing at and beating up a neighbour who asked them to turn down their music.

One of the Indian men, an investor, accused his compatriot neighbour of working in the sex industry while the other, a salesman, beat her up.

The Dubai Court of Misdemeanor yesterday fined the two, 34-year-old A.K. and 37-year-old T.R., Dh3,250 each.

Presiding Judge Ebrahim Khalil said in the verdict they were fined Dh1,000 for consuming liquor, Dh2,000 for harassing the public by playing loud music plus Dh250 for cursing and assaulting the 30-year-old female employee.

The Public Prosecution charged the two with drinking alcohol and harassing the public by playing music at an extremely loud volume.

Records showed the woman asked the two to turn down the music when they assaulted her.
