Fujairah: The Fujairah Traffic Court has found two men guilty of causing the death of two fellow motorists, in separate incidents, and fined them a total of Dh300,000 in blood money.

Emirati, A.A.A., was convicted of causing the death of Indian, T.M., three months ago, when he failed to slow down at a road hump near the small town of Al Qurayya, on the Fujairah-Khor Fakkan road.

A.A.A's car collided against a vehicle driven by T.M. who sustained serious injuries after the collision and died soon after arriving at Khor Fakkan Hospital's emergency ward.

The court ordered A.A.A. to pay Dh200,000 in blood money, or compensation for accidental manslaughter, to the victim's family, and also fined him Dh300 for the accident.

In a separate case, the court also convicted Y.A.A., who has no legal documents, of causing the death of Emirati woman, N.A.A., after an accident near the town of Balyeeda, on the Fujairah-Masafi road.

Y.A.A. was ordered by the court to pay the victim's family Dh100,000 in blood money, which in Islamic Sharia law, is half the amount for a male victim.

He was also fined Dh1,500 for causing the accident through negligence.
