Sharjah: Police Sunday confirmed that in two separate incidents, a man and a woman fell to their deaths from residential buildings here.

A police official said the first incident took place Sunday around 4am, when an Ethiopian woman jumped to her death from the third floor of a building in Mussallah area. The body of the 28-year-old victim was later taken to the Forensic Laboratory of Sharjah Police.

In the second incident that occurred around noon, a 50-year-old Indian man fell from the 11th floor of Al Huda Building in the Al Khan area. Crowds gathered at the accident site soon thereafter. An eyewitness claimed the victim's wife, who was also present at the scene, was seen crying uncontrollably. The body was taken to the Forensic Laboratory.

"It is still not clear whether the incidents were accidents or suicides, but we will continue to investigate," said the police official.
