Two accused of killing man and injuring another
Prosecutors charged the two Pakistani men, 24-year-old M.N. and 30-year-old M.W., with killing an Indian victim, M.K., with a knife, which they also used to assault another 38-year-old Indian, A.S.
Dubai: Two men have been charged with storming into a brothel armed with a knife, stabbing two men — killing one and injuring the other — stealing Dh1,500 and two phones, and escaping.
Prosecutors charged the two Pakistani men, 24-year-old M.N. and 30-year-old M.W., with killing an Indian victim, M.K., with a knife, which they also used to assault another 38-year-old Indian, A.S.
The assault victim, A.S., however, was also charged for allegedly running a brothel.
Another man, a 28-year-old Pakistani, K.A., was charged with failing to report the murder and the brothel to the police.
One of the accused, M.W., defended himself in the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday saying: "No, I didn't kill the victim. And I didn't assault anyone ... I am innocent".
According to the arraignment sheet, prosecutors have accused M.N. and M.W. of assaulting A.S. and killing M.K., as well as stealing the victims' mobile phones and Dh1,500.
Prosecutors also charged A.S. — the alleged assault victim — with running a brothel in the flat where the alleged murder took place in Al Baraha. He was also charged with sexually exploiting Bangladeshi and Indian girls who were working as prostitutes.
"I was unaware of the crimes ... I am not guilty," contended K.A. when he defended himself before the presiding judge.
